Equipment Hire

DML HIRE TERMS & CONDITIONS

 

1  IDENTIFICATION

Cash Customers  are required to provide 2 forms of ID for their Rental booking.

This must include a photo ID , passport or Driving License & a recent Utility Bill.

2  RENTAL DEPOSIT

First time Hirers are required to pay a deposit in advance for their rental booking, upto the value of the equipment booked. On high value items such as the Hasselblad H3D camera system Items of substantial value may also be left as security (such as camera equipment ) and business references may be required. We also retain the right to refuse your hire request if you can not fulfil this.

3  PAYMENTS

a  Cash Customers can pay for their Hire with Cash or by Credit/Debit card excluding AMEX.

b  We only accept payment at the time of Rental: in store where the customer & card are present or

over the telephone where your order is delivered to the card registration address.

c  Earlier payment can be made by direct Bank Transfer, allowing time for us to verify secure receipt.

4  RENTAL HIRE PERIOD

a  All hire bookings are charged from the time they leave us or are collected from us, to the time they are returned to us.

b - We retain the right to terminate the hire at any time and recover the rental equipment.

4a  RESPONSIBILITY

It is the hirers responsibility to:

a - Return the rental to us on time.

b  To pay the rental rate for each day that the equipment is in your possession & until the equipment has been returned to us, including any additional charges incurred.

c - To safe-guard our equipment whilst in your care.

5  LATE RETURNS

a  Are subject to an additional charge.

b  All prices are subject to change without notice.

c  It is the responsibility of the hirer to inform DML of any hire extension no less than 24 hours prior to the end of their original hire period.

d  Hire without Deposit customers will be automatically charged for the additional rental period.

 

5a  CANCELLATIONS

a - Please call us if you have a cancellation.

b  Same day cancellations / no shows may be subject to a cancellation charge & or the cost of the whole hire.

 

6  EQUIPMENT CHECK

a  All our equipment is checked and tested prior to leaving us and on return to us. We cannot accept

liability for any failure in use or for consequential loss.

b - The hirer must check all equipment carefully for completeness and function at the time of receipt.

 

7  DAMAGED / MISSING / STOLEN EQUIPMENT

a - The hirer must report shortage of equipment to us within 1 hour of receiving the rental order.

b  Any failure of equipment must be reported immediately, giving DML as much time as possible to correct this.

c  Any rental equipment that is stolen must be reported to the police and to DML within 24 hours, please

provide your crime reference number and details of the loss.

d  As the hirer you are liable for the equipment whilst in your care , including any breakages please see

section 8.

e  All Digital cameras are checked and cleaned before leaving DML rental, we assume no responsibility

for any dust or debris found on the sensor whilst the hire goods are in your care.

 

8  EQUIPMENT USAGE

The Hirer is responsible for ensuring that he/she is familiar with the controls and functionality of the

equipment rented. We will assist with this if required.

 

9  UNRETURNED ITEMS

The hirer is responsible for returning all rented equipment to DML fully complete. Any unreturned items

will automatically be charged to the hirer.

 

10  DISPATCH , DELIVERIES & COLLECTIONS

Cash / Hire with out deposit Customers If paid by card we must deliver hire orders to your card

registration address.

Account customer  We will deliver to an address of your choice or you can arrange collection from us.

Delivery charges  All deliveries will be individually quoted.

 

11  TERMS & CONDITIONS OF HIRE INSURANCE

a  Insurance is compulsory unless evidence of existing cover is produced.

b - Cost - 10% of the Hire Charge.

c  Geographical Limits Ireland only

 

12  LIABILITY

a - DML will not be held responsible for any loss of earning or personal damage you might incur due to the misuse of our equipment.

b - Our liability in connection with the hire of the equipment shall be limited to the price of the hire.

c  It is the hirers responsibility to check the function of the equipment.

All equipment is checked prior to rental and DML has no liability for loss or consequential damage due to any failure of the hired

equipment.

 

13  EXCLUSIONS

a  Damage caused by incorrect use, corrosion, excessive heat, dampness or physical mistreatment.

b - Property damaged as a result of the hired equipment undergoing any unauthorised process including

unauthorised repairing, adjusting, servicing or maintenance.

c  Damage arising from the breakage of any flash tube and or bulbs.

d  Damage to glass and any other fragile or brittle item (other than lenses) unless caused by fire, theft

or accident to the conveyance in which the property insured is being transported.

e - Theft from unoccupied vehicles.

f  Damage to property carried on the outside of vehicles.

g  Damage or loss as a result of negligence.

h - Consequential loss of any description
